Black Oak Stables offers several fun competitions throughout the year at which participants may test what they've learned and practiced.

Jump Nights are offered in the spring, and take place in our indoor arena. Participants are welcome to jump rounds of 6 - 8 fences set at specific heights, from 18" to as high as any given competitor wishes. This is an opportunity for riders to expose their mounts to a new setting, if they haven't been off their property during the winter. And it provides a friendly atmosphere to regain one's confidence to jump competitively. No preregistration is necessary; however, we ask that you call or email in advance so we know to expect you.

Our Two-Phase (Combined Test) shows are held during the summer, in our outdoor dressage sand arena and grass jump arena. Levels of competition range from Elementary to Preliminary. Competitors may choose which USEA test they wish to ride for their division. The jump course is challenging but not overwhelming.

Every October, Black Oak Stables celebrates the Halloween season with our Goblin Gallop, a fun, low-level 2-phase event. One requirement of competitors is to dress in costume. Dressage tests are designed by Black Oak. Kids of all ages will love the experience!
